Crash shuts down I-75 southbound between Dalton and Calhoun

A tractor trailer crash on I-75 has shut down both lanes of southbound traffic, turning the interstate into a more than two mile-long parking lot between Dalton and Calhoun.

According to dispatch, the county fire department and Georgia State Patrol are working to clear the wreck that involved a car and a tractor trailer.

A dispatcher said that a firefighter who was responding to the scene said that everything was "totally backed up" from the wreck at mile marker 326 as far as mile marker 328.

The cause of the wreck is currently unknown, but no serious injuries were reported.
