An early morning house fire Saturday resulted in one death, according to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris.

In a news release, Harris said deputies responded to a call about the fire about 4:10 a.m. that day. Multiple fire units from area jurisdictions responded.

A body believed to be that of Travis Nathaniel Clark, 38, of Valley Head, was found inside the home.

The body was taken by the DeKalb County coroner's office to the Department of Forensic Science in Huntsville for an autopsy.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated by the state fire marshal's office and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

Harris said that "our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this tragic time."
