A 29-year-old Albertville, Ala., man was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree arson in connection with a Feb. 4 home fire on County Road 1973 in Crossville, DeKalb County Jimmy Harris said.
In a statement, Harris said witnesses who were in the home at the time of the fire stated that Jeffery Michael Page went to the back of the house in a room, started the fire and climbed out of the window.
Page is being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
"This is still an ongoing investigation, and no more information will be released at this time," Harris said.
