Dalton couple went on shopping spree with stolen car and debit card

The Dalton Police Department is asking for any information the public might have on two people suspected of stealing a car and using a debit card found inside to go on a $1,000 shopping spree.

The victim reported that the 2007 Toyota Camry was left unlocked in the 800 block of Showalter Avenue with the victim's wallet and keys inside.

The theft occurred sometime between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14th.

A check of the victim's bank acount showed that the suspects made several purchases along Cleveland highway and in Tennessee immediately after the theft.

Those purchases included almost $200 spent at an Auto Zone store, more than $200 spent at an O'Reilley Auto Parts, and an unknown amount at Tractor Supply Company.

The car has a noticeable dent in the front passenger door.

A store surveillance camera recorded the suspects and they have been described by police as a skinny white man who wore a polo shirt and a red hat, and a white woman with blonde hair who wore a red UGA hoodie and blue ball cap.
