Nehad Abdelnabi, shown here on Nov. 4, 2014, is standing trial this week in Knox County Criminal Court on charges of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault for allegedly masterminding the beating and torturing of Naser Ferwanah in February 2012.

The same man who beat and tortured his friend for some two hours to try to get him to confess to making a sex tape with his wife wanted to take him to the hospital, but his alleged victim didn't want him to go to jail, according to testimony Wednesday.

It was one more twist in a case on trial in Knox County Criminal Court that is already rife with bizarre claims.

Nehad Abdelnabi is accused of taping longtime friend Naser Ferwanah to a chair and, along with an unidentified man, beating Ferwanah with a baseball bat and a board to get him to confess he made a sex tape with Abdelnabi's wife and posted it on an Arab pornography website. There is no proof Ferwanah, a married father of five, cheated with Abdelnabi's wife, let alone made a sex tape with her. Ferwanah denies both claims and, despite what he says was more than two hours of torture, he refused to say he did.
