Lanes on APD-40 will be closed overnight through the weekend for a traffic shift in the area where a new interchange is being built, the Tennessee Department of Transportation says.
One lane in each direction will be closed from 10 p.m. today through 5 p.m.Sunday, according to a TDOT news release. The closures will allow the contactor to shift traffic closer to the new barrier wall in both directions. Flaggers will help with traffic control as needed.
The work zone is east of exit 20 from Interstate 75 at the Stone Lake Extension. The speed limit in the work zone has been reduced to 45 mph. The project is estimated to be complete in October.
