Driver remains in critical after collision on Shallowford Road last week

Officers responded to the 4000 block of Shallowford Road on Thursday on the report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Investigators determined that Derrick Bush, 34, lost control of his vehicle while traveling east on Shallowford Road at the Moore Road intersection. The vehicle entered into oncoming westbound traffic and was struck by a vehicle driven by Alma Carver, 63.

Carver was uninjured. Bush was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Services with life-threatening injuries.

Earlier today investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department were notified by Derrick Bush's family that he had passed away.

Erlanger officials notified investigators later today that Bush remains in critical condition.
