Chattanooga man Larry Vance, 29, was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison today for the distribution of child pornography, after he pleaded guilty to the charge in December 2015.

After his release, Vance will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 15 years, according to the sentence handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Harry Mattice.

The investigation into Vance was initiated when Texas law enforcement detected that a Tennessee man was sending images of child pornography and discussing the molestation of these children on Craigslist, according to a news release.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and Chattanooga Police Department assisted with the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Terra L. Bay represented the United States.
