A citizen who spotted and followed a stolen car helped lead to the arrest of three suspects on Wednesday who were found in possession of narcotics and a stolen handgun.
According to a release from the Chattanooga Police Department, Chattanooga Neighborhood Policing Officers responded to the 3600 block of 12th Avenue after a community member was reported to be tailing the car at 6:40 p.m.
The driver stopped and parked in front of a house and officers were able to find and detain two of the suspects while a third tried to flee from the car before being stopped by officers arriving on scene.
Summer Neighbors, 34, was charged with theft over $10,000, theft over $500, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, driving on revoked and driving with an open container.
Akeem Daniels, 29, was charged with theft over $500, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of crack cocaine for resale, possession of marijuana, possession of hydrocodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.
Dayontae Menifee, 27, was charged with theft over $500, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of crack cocaine and tampering with evidence.
