Airport Road will be closed between Shallowford Road and Airport Connector Road/Shepherd Road effective immediately because of a sinkhole, according to a Chattanooga Department of Transportation news release.
Airport access will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The sinkhole has made that section of Airport Road impassable.
Updates will be sent out when an expected re-open date is known.
