This is a developing story. Stay with the Times Free Press for more.mapThe body of a woman was found by two fishermen earlier today on the bank of the Tennessee River and authorities estimate she may have been in the water for up to 10 days.
Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnett said the original call came in at approximately 12:30 p.m. CST and when he and investigators arrived, they found the unidentified woman lying on the rocky bank of the river near the 2100 block of River Canyon Road.
Burnett described her as a caucasian woman in her late 40s to early 50s.
The body has been sent to a TBI crime lab in Nashville for an autopsy.
