Alabama traffic stop leads to drug arrest

Alabama deputies have arrested two people on various drugs charges after a traffic stop.

Earlier today, DeKalb County sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle on Barry Street in Powell, according to a news release. Deputies asked to search the vehicle and found marijuana. The passenger, 42-year-old Stacie Higgins Garrett, of Fyffe, was found to have meth in her possession.

The driver, 46-year-old Stephen Dale Guffey, also of Fyffe, was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia and marijuana. Garrett was charged with possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Both were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.
