Man shot, killed during botched robbery at Days Inn identified

Chattanooga police confirmed Saturday that a man who was fatally shot at the Days Inn on Carter Street was attempting a robbery.

A police news release said Delane Carlos Price, 42, was dead at the scene when police were called at 7:40 p.m.

Police spokesman Victor Miller said the man who shot him was Stan Lindsey, 59, who was with another person at the motel when Price tried to rob them.

Both people stayed at the scene and waited for police to arrive, Miller said.
