HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A changing weather pattern could bring damaging winds to higher elevations in north Alabama.
AL.com reports that starting Monday, gusts could be strong enough to knock down trees and power lines.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a high-wind watch for parts of northeast and north-central Alabama that is scheduled to go into effect Mondayafternoon and last through late night.
Madison, Marshall, Jackson and DeKalb counties at elevations of 1,000 feet or higher could get sustained winds of 35-40 mph, which is tropical storm force. Some gusts could be as high as 55 mph.
