Traffic is being diverted off Highway 153 at Highway 58 in Chattanooga.A person died after being struck by a vehicle in the 600 block of Highway 153 northbound Sunday evening, according to a press release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
The person died at the scene due to injuries suffered in the crash, according to the release.
There is no victim information available at this time.
Highway 153 northbound is closed at its intersection with Highway 58 after the incident that occurred shortly after 8 p.m.
Investigators ask for anyone who witnessed any aspect of the crash to call the police department at 423-698-2525.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation's SmartWay page indicates that crash is expected to be cleared by 1 a.m.
