The victim in the September 26 stabbing, 29-year-old Yessica Ruiz, has succumb to her injuries.

Zacarias Salas-Rufino is charged with criminal homicide and criminal impersonation.

Ruiz was found outside a home in the 3200 block of Navajo Drive about 7 a.m. Monday morning, September 26, on a report of a person suffering from stab wounds, according to Chattanooga police.

She was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Services.

Police originally charged Carlos Delposo with attempted murder and aggravated domestic assault.

It could not be immediately confirmed if Delposo was the same male suspect who was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS earlier in the day. Police said in an earlier news release that a suspect was being treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
