Police responded to the corner of Houston and E. 11th streets around midnight Friday after a man was shot.
The victim, Robert Leslie Ellison III, 18, was taken away from the scene in an ambulance and suffered an injury that was not life threatening, according to an officer at the scene. Officers roped off the area with crime scene tape and some searched in and around a nearby parking garage.
Officers responded to a call at approximately 11:45 p.m. about a disturbance in the area and heard gunfire, according to Chattanooga Police Information Officer Rob Simmons.
The incident happened just down the road from Chattanooga City Hall.
