One killed, another wounded in weekend shooting in Chattanooga

Two people were shot - one of them fatally - early Sunday morning in Chattanooga.

Police said the shooting happened on Wilder Street.

Dispatchers received a call about the incident at 2:32 a.m., and when police arrived, they found a victim dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released yet. It's the the city's 30th homicide of the year, according to Times Free Press records.

The second victim was taken to a hospital in a personal vehicle before police arrived. That person's injuries are not life-threatening, according to a police news release.

Investigators from the police department's violent crime bureau is following leads, but no suspect information has been released.
