Work is set to begin Thursday at the intersections of King Street and University Street on East Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to the Chattanooga Department of Transportation.
One lane will remain open in each direction during the work. Flaggers will be posted in the area. King Street and University Street at East Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed. Detours will be marked, which will direct traffic to Houston Street and Douglas Street.
Work will continue for about seven weeks.
