Firefighters responded to a multi-unit residential fire at 2846 Amsterdam Lane in East Brainerd today, Oct. 11.Firefighters responded to a multi-unit residential fire at the 2800 block of Amsterdam Lane in East Brainerd about 5:20 p.m. today, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department news release.
Arriving fire units said the unit was 50 percent involved with fire in the attic and rear of the structure. Firefighters used hand held fire hoses and an elevated water stream to contain the fire. The fire was under control by 6:30 p.m.
The blaze appears to have started in the end unit. There was minimal damage to the adjacent unit and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The loss is estimated at $150,000.
