Chattanooga police are responding to a report of a suspicious black cylinder in front of the Creative Discovery Museum, a spokeswoman for the department confirmed.

The call came in at about 1:23 p.m., spokeswoman Elisa Myzal said.

Police have taped off the scene and have advised museum staff to keep customers inside and away from the windows.

No one has been hurt.

Police may choose to safely detonate the object, Myzal said.
