Twin toddlers found safe after father's car stolen in Atlanta with pair asleep in backseat

ATLANTA - Police say twin toddlers are safe after their father's car was stolen from a gas station in Atlanta.

WSB-TV reports that the girls were asleep in the backseat of their father's Toyota Camry when it was stolen from a gas station Saturday night.

The girls were later found a quarter of a mile away after the car was abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The children were unharmed

Police said one twin was in her car seat in the backseat. The other had been removed from the car.

Police said the girls appeared to have slept through the entire incident.

The father told the station he had stepped away from the car when the gas pump wouldn't read his card.
