East Ridge Police are searching for a man suspected of assault in two home invasions Friday, according to a news release.
The first victim, a woman in her mid-70s, said a man entered her home at the 3700 block of Bennett Road and threatened her before running away. As officers responded, another victim in the 1200 block of Laredo Drive called to report he had just been assaulted by the same suspect.
East Ridge High School and Middle Schools were briefly locked down because of the proximity of the invasions.
Both victims were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.
Police are still searching for the suspect, a black man about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.
