The Walker Valley High School teacher investigated over allegations of improper communications with a student has resigned, according to Bradley County Schools Superintendent Dr. Linda Cash.

According to a news release, Cash said Jonathan Dycus sent his letter of resignation Friday.

Dycus had been suspended without pay over the report of inappropriate communication, Cash said.

Steve Crump, 10th Judicial District Attorney General, said the incident had been investigated and he decided no criminal charges were warranted.

Cash said in the news release that a certified Advanced Placement teacher will take over Dycus' psychology and social studies classes in preparation for College Board exams in May.

"School counseling services stand ready to address any student or faculty needs as they may arise concerning this transition," Cash said in the release.
