The University of Tennessee in Knoxville announced Tuesday the creation of a Title IX office and the appointment of a campus Title IX coordinator who will focus solely on issues related to the federal law preventing gender discrimination.

Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life Ashley Blamey assumed the role Tuesday, according to an announcement from the university.
