Chattanooga police responded to a report of a crash at the I-24 eastbound Market Street on-ramp after midnight Thursday morning.
The were four passengers in the vehicle. The driver, 24-year-old Michael Hyter, had succumbed to his injuries when police arrived. Two of the three other passengers were injured in the crash.
An Oldsmobile Bravada SUV was traveling on the Market St. on-ramp to I-24 eastbound, when the vehicle lost control while negotiating the curved ramp and slid off the roadway striking a tree on the driver's side.
Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic division are investigating the crash and following all leads.
