A man has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and theft of property after he stole a woman's car with her five-month-old son in the backseat Monday evening.
The mother left her 2012 Chevrolet Equinox with her son in the backseat as she went into a Mapco on Lee Highway Monday evening.
When she returned, her vehicle and son were gone.
Terry NixPolice issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) alert, and the vehicle was discovered minutes later.
The officer conducted a traffic stop near the 2300 block of 4th Ave. The driver, Terry Nix, 36, was immediately taken into custody after the officer observed the infant in the rear seat of the Equinox.
Hamilton County EMS examined the baby and determined he was not harmed or injured.
