Emily LeAnne Brooks Johnson, 26, the suspected killer in a Hixson Pike gas station shooting on Friday morning, had been entangled in an ongoing domestic dispute with the victim.

The cell phone belonging to victim Eric Christopher Burchfield, 28, "displayed messages consistent with two parties at odds," according to Chattanooga police records.

Johnson, also known as Ember Lee Cash Elm, has been charged with a criminal homicide and unlawful possession of a weapon. Bond was set at $1 million for the homicide charge and $5,000 for the weapon offense.

Johnson is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on July 26.
