The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday in Bledsoe County that claimed the life of a North Carolina man.
Emmanuel Lewis Farris, 32, of Charlotte, N.C., was killed when his 1995 Honda left the northbound side of U.S. Highway 127, crossed the yard of a private residence and collided with a tree.
Farris was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened as Farris was negotiating a curve near Kelly Lane, according to THP.
Although Farris was wearing a seat belt, state troopers did not believe seat belts would have made a difference in the outcome.
