The skilled nose on DeKalb County's K-9 unit led to several arrests at the end of May, as the dog and deputy made arrests during traffic stops that resulted in the confiscation of meth, pills and marijuana.

During a May 25 traffic stop on Jones Road in Fyffe, the K-9 dog sniffed around a vehicle driven by Bradley Ryan Williams, and indicated that drugs were stored inside. The deputy searched the vehicle and found marijuana, then arrested Williams.

Two days later, at a traffic stop at Highway 75 and Forest Drive in Sylvania, a K-9 and deputy stopped Dana Lynn Hurley, of Fyffe. During the traffic stop, the K-9 unit sniffed around the vehicle and indicated drugs were inside. During the subsequent search of the car, the deputy found several syringes, a pink smoking pipe with a green leafy substance, prescription pills and methamphetamine.
