"On Veterans Day, I think of all the Tennessee veterans I've been honored to greet this year on their HonorAir trip to Washington. There are more than 500,000 brave men and women in Tennessee who have worn the uniform of our Armed Services. They're our neighbors, our friends, the people we pass by in the grocery store or greet at church on Sunday – ordinary people who have done extraordinary things and made terrific sacrifices, and we owe them more than we could repay."

- Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.

"Our veterans represent the very best of our nation, and we owe a great deal of gratitude and respect to those who have served in uniform," said Corker. "Their courage and selflessness have helped ensure America remains the greatest country on Earth, and I know all Tennesseans join me today in thanking these brave men and women for their service and sacrifices."

- Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

"Today and every day, we remember the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country. Our nation has been shaped by the bravery of our veterans and their families. Without their willingness to fight for American values and their love for this country, we would be living in a much different place."

- Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn.

"We take for granted sometimes all that we have. But, we should never take for granted the sacrifice that many Americans have given so that you and I can be free to talk, as I am doing today, free to work where we want to work, free to raise our families and worship where they want to worship, and say what we think, where we want to say it. This is the greatest country on the face of this earth, and it is in large measure because of the great men and women who fought in our military to preserve the great level of liberty that our Founding Fathers put forward for us."

- Sen. Johnny Isakon, R-Ga.
