GPS leads police to stolen city vehicle, suspect

A man believed to have stolen a government vehicle from the city of Chattanooga was charged with possession of marijuana in Bradley County on Saturday.

GPS led officers to a stolen public works vehicle on the 3200 block of Fulbright Road, where Cleveland Police found the suspect, Evan Elmore, as he exited the rear door of an apartment, according to a news release. A bag of green, leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, was discovered in his front right pocket during a pat down.

Elmore was transported to the Bradley County Justice Center where he was booked on a possession charge.

The stolen vehicle was released to the Chattanooga Police Department, and charges are pending in Chattanooga for theft of an auto and burglary of a business.
