Chattanooga police identify victim in Monday night's fatal hit-and-run

Authorities have identified the victim in Monday night's fatal hit-and-run in the 7350 block of Lee Highway, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.

Police found Aquana Aneitra Kincy, 37, deceased after a woman driving south on Lee Highway reported to police that she saw a shoe in the center turning lane and a body in the ditch. Authorities believe Kincy was walking on the highway when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Police found evidence at the scene indicating the suspected vehicle is a 2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car of undetermined color. The vehicle will likely have damage to the passenger side front fender, hood and the possibly windshield.

Chattanooga police are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 and ask to speak with a traffic unit sergeant or Investigator Cavitt. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Chattanooga Police Mobile App.
