The criminal apprehension portion of the United States Police Canine Association's Region 22 Field Trials was held at Finley Stadium on Tuesday.
Law enforcement from Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama competed in general patrol dog and narcotic detection categories that tested the dogs' training, behavior and obedience.
In the criminal apprehension competition, dogs and their handlers were evaluated across multiple criteria that included their efficient response to handler commands and the technique of their takedown of a simulated suspect.
