Brian Eugene Williamson, 31, is wanted on an active warrant and "[o]fficers have received information that he may be in the Chattanooga area," the post states.

Williamson was released from custody in January on a conviction on the Dunlap charge, Chief Clint Huth said Thursday. Huth said Williamson pleaded guilty at his first court hearing on the charge.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's sex offender registry, Williamson is classified as "violent against children." His last known address was a mobile home on State Route 28 just inside the south Sequatchie County line, according to online TBI sex offender records.

According to Dunlap authorities, Williamson was convicted of child molestation in Indiana in 2007.

Huth said officers made sure Williamson hadn't moved and registered elsewhere before seeking the warrant for his arrest.

Anyone with information on Williamson's whereabouts should contact the Dunlap Police Department at 423-949-3319.
