A vacant house was damaged by fire Tuesday night, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department news release.

At about 6:58 p.m., Hamilton County 911 received a call about a house fire in the 200 block of N. Germantown Road.

When Battalion 2 arrived at the scene there was smoke and fire visible from the rear of the house. An additional fire company was requested because of the excessive heat. A total of seven fire companies were at the scene and the fire was brought under control quickly.

The Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County EMS, Hamilton County Rehab and EPB were also on the scene to assist.
