McCallie School defeated Montgomery Bell Academy to win the 2019 Division II-AAA State Championship in football. McCallie Headmaster Lee Burns and MBA Headmaster Brad Gioia wagered on the game that the winner would receive a locally-made treat for the entire campus from the other school: Moon Pies (from Chattanooga) if MBA won and Goo Goo Clusters (from Nashville) if McCallie won.

McCallie students get Goo Goo clusters

The McCallie School student body held an assembly Wednesday to formally receive the 2019 Football State Championship trophy. As part of that, every student was also given a Goo Goo Cluster, courtesy of Montgomery Bell Academy.

Shortly before the game last Thursday, McCallie Headmaster Lee Burns and MBA Headmaster Brad Gioia agreed to a friendly wager: If MBA won, McCallie would send every MBA student a Chattanooga-made Moon Pie; if McCallie won, MBA would send every McCallie student a Goo Goo Cluster, which is made in Nashville.
