'Free Solo,' showing at Imax, wins Oscar for Best Documentary

"Free Solo," the documentary currently showing at the Tennessee Aquarium Imax Theater, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature during Sunday night's awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The documentary, directed by Jimmy Chin, is the story of Alex Honnold scaling the 3,000-foot, vertical face of Yosemite National Park's El Capitan without ropes or other safety equipment.

Remaining screenings of the documentary at The Imax are Saturdays, March 2 and 9, at 7 p.m. and Sundays, March 3 and 10, at 6 p.m.
