Coty Aaron DilbeckHamilton County Sheriff's Office personnel captured the man who walked out of the Hamilton County Jail on Monday afternoon, according to a news release.
Coty Aaron Dilbeck, 29, was in a holding area awaiting booking on felony theft charges when he walked out of the jail, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesman Matt Lea said in an email.
Police dispatchers said Dilbeck might have gotten into a blue car on Walnut Street and was believed to be trying to get to Cleveland, Tenn.
Lea said he was caught about 2 1/2 hours later in Bradley County.
He said the sheriff's office is reviewing the circumstances to reduce the probability of future escapes.
