Market Street Bridge closing Sunday for testing

The Market Street Bridge in downtown Chattanooga will be closed to pedestrians and through traffic from 8 a.m. until no later than 2 p.m. Sunday for quarterly testing and maintenance, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

The work will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Drivers are advised to use the Olgiati Bridge or the Veterans Bridge as alternate routes, the news release states.
