A Chattanooga woman was arrested after allegedly running over a 13-year-old's foot Saturday afternoon, according to Hamilton County court records.

Police were called to the 3600 block of 7th Avenue at about 4 p.m. and saw Markeasha Buchanan, 23, yelling at a person, court records state. An officer tried to stop Buchanan, but she drove off toward East 36th Street and through multiple stop signs.

She was found and detained a short time later, sitting on the steps of a house in the 2700 block of East 39th Street. Officers searched her car and found drug paraphernalia, court records show.

Then, officers went back to the house on 7th Avenue and spoke to the victim and witnesses.

One woman said Buchanan ran the 13-year-old girl's foot over, court records state.

Another witness told police that she was taking the trash out when Buchanan yelled, "I'm going to run your b---- a-- over."

Buchanan then accelerated, jumped the sidewalk and ran over the girl's right foot, a witness told police. The girl's brother then yelled for help, and that's when another person came out and carried the girl into the house.

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment, court records show.

Meanwhile, Buchanan had reportedly become upset while in the patrol vehicle and "started to make threats towards the victims," court records state. And while she was being taken to the jail, she "began to kick and hit" the patrol vehicle, eventually knocking off a rear radar unit.

Buchanan faces a slew of charges, including aggravated assault, felony evading arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
