Kimball, Tenn., resident charged with homicide in shooting death of man outside Jasper business

A Kimball, Tennessee, man has been charged with homicide in the death of a man outside a Jasper business early Saturday.

Benjamin Desrosier, 35, was arrested after a joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Jasper Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force, according to a news release from the TBI.

Investigators say 30-year-old Timothy Matthew Shirley was shot and killed during an altercation with Desrosier outside of a business in the 6400 block of Highway 41 in Jasper.

Desrosier was arrested Saturday on a charge of criminal homicide and booked into the Marion County Jail, the release states. His bond will be set during his initial court appearance Monday.
