A 16-year-old boy is being treated for a gunshot wound sustained in a Friday evening drive-by shooting, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.
Police were called to a local hospital at 10:54 p.m. Friday in response to a patient arriving with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, police spoke with the boy, who had been transported to the hospital via a private vehicle.
The teen told police he had been outside a residence when he was shot by someone in a passing vehicle.
Police found the crime scene in the 2700 block of Sixth Avenue and the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau was called in to further investigate.
