On the front lawn of the Chickamauga National Military Park Visitor Center, Women's Army Corps re-enactor's march on the front lawn of the Chickamauga National Military Park Visitor Center on Sunday, near the site of the 3rd WAC Training Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Congresswoman Edith Nourse Rogers proposed the creation of a Women's Army Corps in 1941. After many changes, Congress signed the bill creating the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps on May 14, 1942. WACS began training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa, in July of 1942, according to information provided to attendees at the WAC re-enactment.
