Harrison, Tenn., family of seven loses Sims Road home to fire

A home on the 7000 block of Sims Road in Harrison, Tenn., burned down Saturday, leaving its family of seven without a home. The total loss was valued by fire officials at $200,000.

A Harrison, Tennessee, family of seven is being assisted by the American Red Cross after losing their home to a fire Saturday.

At 1 p.m., 911 received a call from a homeowner reporting a fire on the back porch of their home on the 7000 block of Sims Road, according to a news release from Hamilton County Emergency Services.

The family evacuated the home without injury. Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene reporting fire on the back of the house. Highway 58 fire officials immediately called for a mutual aid response for water tanker shuttles, engines and manpower. 

Fire officials reported the house as a total loss valued at $200,000. The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the release states.
