Police investigated a possible bomb threat Friday evening near Walmart on Brainerd Road, according to police.

The site was the Nova Medical Center building on the 5700 block of Brainerd Road.

"The CPD EOD Unit (Bomb Squad) responded and cleared the building," reads a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Brainerd Road was closed as police investigated the scene, but had been reopened by 7:45 p.m. 

"Police are clearing from the scene," the release states.
