Police are investigating a shooting incident Thursday at a downtown apartment complex.

Responding to a call of shots just after 11 p.m. at Douglas Heights on Douglas Street, police arrived and found what appeared to be a crime scene in a hallway of the building, according to a news release.

A short while later, a 21-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The police department was notified and investigators determined the man had been shot at the apartment complex.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.

In a statement emailed to residents, a Douglas Heights representative said: "We're sad, and we're mad, that this happened. And we are committed to working with the Chattanooga Police to make sure the person responsible is brought to justice."

It is the second shooting at the complex this year.

In July, one person was killed and another injured when police say three men entered the building and shot 25-year-old Rigoberto Jarquin.

Three people have been charged in that death.

Police ask anyone with information about Thursday's shooting to call 423-698-2525. Callers can remain anonymous.
