MGT Consulting Group has released a public survey and plans for public meetings to allow community input on Hamilton County Schools' buildings.
A preliminary report, unveiled in July by the company, identified more than $1.36 billion in capital needs across 74 schools in Hamilton County.
Auditors evaluated the physical condition, grounds, existing classrooms space and technology readiness of every school this spring. Ultimately, MGT recommends renovating 11 schools, adding to 10 schools, building new buildings for three schools and closing 15 school buildings.
The factors that were considered in the MGT facilities audit included each schools' enrollment, capacity, utilization, physical condition, educational program suitability, and technology infrastructure.
MGT will hold community meetings in various locations to receive further input, according to a news release. The community meetings will be held in each of the learning communities in the district and will be open to all area residents. The meetings will provide information about the MGT preliminary plan and allow those attending to present questions.
The community input from the meetings, as well as the feedback in the survey will be included in the final recommendation to Hamilton County school board members.
