A 15-year-old was arrested for an alleged carjacking Saturday night on Market Street at Aquarium Way in downtown Chattanooga. 

The armed teenager approached a female victim at her parked car and forcibly stole her vehicle, according to police. The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. at 200 Market Street.

The owner of the vehicle grabbed onto the car but fell off when the suspect fled the scene. She was not treated for any injuries. 

Police put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) for the vehicle. A female officer spotted the suspect and began pursuing. 

The suspect crashed the vehicle on Roanoke Avenue while trying to ram the officer's vehicle, according to police. The suspect took off on foot but was caught by the officer.

The suspect was charged with carjacking, aggravated assault, felony evading, unlawful possession of a firearm, theft of property, and numerous traffic violations.
