As if fighting fires wasn't difficult enough.

Firefighters had to call on their rock climbing skills Wednesday as they worked to extinguish a brush fire located on the 500 block of North Palisades Drive on Signal Mountain.

Firefighters had to split their attack from above and below, according to Signal Mountain Fire Chief Eric Mitchell, with those fighting the blaze from above being tied off with safety ropes.

No structures were endangered and no injuries were reported, reads a news release.
